8 Weeks Pregnant Belly |
At 8 weeks pregnant, you have probably just found out that you are pregnant, most likely through a drugstore pregnancy test or through a check-up with an obstetrician. Congratulations! You are about to embark on a bitter-sweet, exciting but often a little scary journey which will last for another 30+ weeks. The pregnancy really starts to sink in when the 8 weeks pregnancy symptoms begin.
8 Weeks Pregnancy Symptoms
The pregnancy hormones really start to kick in at this point. Your 8 weeks pregnant belly is not showing yet but the baby inside you is growing and with that come a lot of pregnancy symptoms.
Heightened sense of smell: At 8 weeks, everything may seem a little more odorous to you. Your husband's perfume which you used to love suddenly becomes too strong. The smell of food may also seem off to you, some to the point of making you nauseous.
Morning Sickness: Your pregnancy hormones are in high gear and because of this you feel nauseous not only in the morning but for most of the day. You will hardly be able to keep certain foods down so it is important to find a safe zone to make sure you are still eating and getting the right nutrition.
Sore Breasts: Your breasts will feel a little more tender, heavier and veins show up a little more through the skin. Taking off your bra at the end of the day will be bliss at this point in your pregnancy.
Fatigue: You body is now working for both you and the baby and this causes exhaustion. It will be hard to keep your eyes open during this stage and the only solution is to get enough (if not more) sleep.
